Shrink-wrapping systems use heat-sensitive film to encase grouped units, offering a tight, tamper-evident seal. Case packers or robotic handlers then place collated units into these containers, ensuring alignment to prevent transit damage. Sealing follows: tape applicators secure carton flaps, and heat tunnels shrink film to form a snug barrier. Label applicators then apply barcodes, expiration dates, batch numbers, and shipping labels—critical for traceability and compliance with food safety or logistics regulations. Quality inspection is embedded throughout. Vision systems scan each package to verify correct labeling, proper sealing, and full unit count, reducing human error and diverting non-compliant items for rework. The final output is ready-for-shipping secondary packages, often integrated with ERP or WMS systems to align with order volumes.
